ABOUT US

At Mi Casita de Español the teachers work with the children to provide a nurturing, caring, and safe learning environment filled with energy where the children love to learn in Spanish.

We strongly believe that children need to be allowed to be children and play. Research has proven that hands-on exploration coupled with loving guidance is how children best learn. Therefore, we do not teach Spanish, we speak Spanish while we guide the children as they develop. We engage the children through interactive activities and allow them to explore and discover the world around them.

In our school, we provide year-round, full-time and part-time education for potty-trained children ages 2.5 to 5 years old. Our nurturing environment and low teacher-to-child ratio allows for us to personally learn about your child’s interests, abilities and personality in order to maximize their potential. This personalized approach allows the children to develop social skills, dialogue enhancement, language retention, while also accelerating your child’s cognitive and emotional development all while learning a second language.

OUR MAESTRA

Credentials

MAESTRA AMOR

Founder & Director

Maestra Amor is a native Spanish speaker who grew up in Chihuahua, México. She received her B.A. in Architecture from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). Maestra Amor is the proud mommy of three beautiful boys Santiago (15), Lorenzo (12), and Dante (8). Upon the birth of her children she made the career shift to teaching to ensure that not only her children but the community children would develop solid core values, spanish language proficiency, and cultural enrichment.

Maestra Amor has been inspiring children to learn and love Spanish for over 12 years. She has served as a volunteer at her children’s preschool and at the Palo Alto YMCA for the Kid’s Club childcare program, in addition, she was a Spanish After-School Instructor for elementary school children at Berlitz Languages, Inc.
Since 2010 Maestra Amor has been a Preschool Teacher. In 2013, when a mother graciously offered Maestra Amor a site in Palo Alto that she could transform into a home-based childcare space, she opened her door in October 2013. Since then Maestra Amor has been working diligently to design not only the unique learning spaces where the children play and learn, but the teaching method and curriculum as well.
With an expanded vision, in September 2019, Maestra Amor opened the doors to the second location focused on Pre-K curriculum to welcome children to a safe, caring, and nurturing home environment for children to learn in Spanish.

Maestra Amor received her Outdoor Classroom Certification – Level II in 2017. Both locations have been designed following the Outdoor Classroom principles.
